Nightscape
The macabre contents of a crate become a fixation for the loyal servant who has vowed to protect it for his leader. A grief-ridden father is tormented by thoughts of avenging his murdered daughter. The relationship between a son and his father is turned on its head by startling advances in science. In each of the stories in this collection the twin themes of obsession and determination sound like a drumbeat.
