Myth = Mithya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology
Hinduism can be a puzzle or even an enigma to the uninitiated. There are so many different beliefs, so many rituals and so many myths and legends, it can be hard to follow. Myth = Mithya: A Handbook Of Hindu Mythology is an attempt by the author to shed light on this seeming tangle, to show the deeper meanings of the different stories. He explains about the Hindu Trinity and their Divine Consorts. He also goes into the puzzle of why Hindus believe in one Supreme Reality and yet claim the existence of 330 million Gods. The book explains concepts like the Pitr, Jiva, and about the Devas and the Asuras. He explains the significance of various rituals. He discusses how the warrior-like Kali and the benign Gauri are different forms of the same Goddess. He also compares the roles and the powers of the Trinity, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. He goes into the idea behind the various avatars or incarnations of the Preserver, Vishnu. He examines why the Rama and Krishna avatars have assumed such significance. Myth = Mithya: A Handbook Of Hindu Mythology also compares the two major epics, The Ramayana and The Mahabharata. It analyzes why the two avatars in the epics, Rama and Krishna, were so different. It shows that the age that these epics were set in demanded different perspectives to handle similar situations. This book is not a continuous narrative, it does not read like a novel. Instead, it is a source of reference for those who want to gain a deeper understanding of the stories and rituals and symbols that permeate the Hindu faith. The book is not aimed just at those who are non-Hindus. Even those who have been brought up in the Hindu faith can gain some deeper insights into their customs and beliefs through this book. Myth = Mithya: A Handbook Of Hindu Mythology also includes illustrations which are drawn by the author.

Conversations With God Book 3
The Conversations With God series came to be written as a result of the author’s experiences in trying to communicate with God during a low point in his life. When Neale Donald Walsch decided to write an angry letter to God about why his life wasn’t working out, he did not expect God to give him a response. After he wrote down the questions, he heard a voice coming from over his right shoulder that asked him if he really wanted the answer to all these questions or if he was just venting. Walsch turned around but he could not find anyone. He then began writing down the answers to his questions, which had by then started filling his mind. These writings formed the basis of the Conversations With God books that contain life changing answers that are sure to change the readers as well as the way they view other beings. As with the other books in the series, Conversations With God Book Three is written in the form of a dialogue between Walsch and God, in which he questions God about various things related to life and God answers him. The third serving of this series takes readers deeper in the powerful and inspirational dialogue as they enter into an adventurous exploration of life, gain a better understanding of the universe, and also develop a fuller personal relationship with God. Conversations With God Book Three moves from personal issues to universal truths which are applicable to all levels of existence, from the microscopic perspective of life to the macrocosmic vision. Some of the questions that this book explores include the profound questions of our time such as what happens when we die, what is time, and whether we are alone in the universe.

Tiger's claw
The fight for the Pacific begins. When China increases its naval presence in the Pacific and develops advanced weapon technology that targets American ships with lethal accuracy, it imperils American military superiority. Can the United States, in the wake of an economic recession and decreased military spending, compete with its cash-rich Chinese enemy? This question can be answered only when U.S.-China tensions blow up in an epic battle for supreme dominion of the Pacific. When China launches the first successful test of its Dong Feng-21D antiship ballistic missile, the future looks bleak for America. Fearing the U.S. will lose its naval supremacy in the Pacific if it does not counter this Chinese threat, President Kenneth Phoenix finds himself in a compromised position. New technology requires money, but the country is recovering from a massive recession, and the president has slashed the military budget to reduce the national debt. Without the funds to compete with China's advancing technology, are the country's days of naval preeminence in the Pacific running out? Retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Patrick McLanahan refuses to accept this fate. The government may lack money, but McLanahan reasons that the United States can afford to refurbish old but potent long-range B-1B Lancer bombers to promote the Air Sea Battle strategy that will push back against Chinese aggression. President Phoenix commissions McLanahan to lead this effort, and soon America stands ready to deploy an AirSea Battle task force in the South China Sea. The People's Liberation Army recognizes that this growing air threat will jeopardize its air and naval superiority in the South China Sea. They aggressively deploy advanced fighters, land-based antimissiles, three aircraft carriers, and exotic, top secret directed energy weapons against their neighbors, hoping to convince the U.S. Navy to stay away. But Patrick McLanahan is finally given the green light to lead his force westward to challenge the Chinese threat head-on.

Seven Years in Tibet
A travel book with autobiographical elements, Seven Years In Tibet is author Heinrich Harrer’s compilation of his experiences during his trip to Tibet between 1944 and 1951. What started as a mountain expedition to the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, went awry for the mountaineer when he was captured and put in a British detention camp in Ahmednagar, a place close to Mumbai. He was later transferred to another camp in Dehradun. This happened because Austria had entered the Second World War around this time, and the British officials decided to declare the mountaineer and his colleagues as enemies of war. Harrer and his colleagues managed to escape from the detention camp. While most of his fellow expeditioners choose to return home, Aufschnaiter, another hiker, decided to continue with Harrer towards Lhasa. The lengthy captivity did not douse their spirits and they finally scaled Nanga Parbat. People believed that they had not survived their journey as a long time had passed since their departure. After reaching Tibet, Harrer blended into the society and became an official of the Tibetan Government. Later, he met the 14th Dalai Lama and became his close friend and tutor. Seven Years In Tibet was translated into 53 languages. It was a US bestseller in 1954, with over 3 million copies being sold after first being published in 1952. The book has also been adapted into films. Hans Nieter made a documentary that contained video shots taken by Harrer during his Tibet trip. Director Jean-Jacques Annaud released a movie titled Seven Years In Tibet in 1997, which cast actors Brad Pitt and David Thewlis as Harrer and Aufschnaiter.

The Three Laws of Performance : Rewriting the Futu
Whenever something goes wrong and there is a need for a change to be implemented, organizations are faced with the dilemma where they do not know which part of the system is to be tackled first. Once they have chosen what to concentrate on, and they implement a process to fix it, other issues crop up. And, this seems to be a direct result of the process devised to fix the previous problem. The authors say that this is because making adjustments to the system that gave rise to the problem does not work. For that given system, its future has already been written in the minds of the people involved. The people involved here range from the top executives down to the workers at the lowest levels of the organization. If the people have become disillusioned with the system, no amount of fixing it will bring about a change. Also, the dissatisfaction these people feel is spilled out into the society through the attitude they carry home to their families and children. The authors say that to improve the situation, first, there must be a redefining of the perceived future as seen by all the employees of an organization. If the employees lack faith in the leaders, and the executives keep attributing the failures to the apathy of the people working for them, no amount of adjustment and fixing will work. This book, The Three Laws Of Performance: Rewriting The Future Of Your Organization And Your Life, shows how to redefine the organization’s future to the people, and how to get everyone to live into this new future. The authors list three basic laws to bring about this transformation. These laws, if applied, could transform performance to an entirely new level. The first section covers the three laws and illustrates them with case studies. These chapters will take the reader on a journey to South Africa, Japan, and the United States. The journey covers companies in fields as diverse as construction, mining, aerospace, and energy. The next section, chapters four and five, looks at organizational leadership from the perspective of the three laws. The third section shows how the reader can use the three laws to enhance their own leadership skills, how to master the three laws, and how to apply them in practical situations. The authors have not written the book as an academic exercise, they intend it to serve as a practical guide. They have drawn from their own personal experiences to illustrate the effectiveness of these principles. The book does not show the reader how to fix problems. It shows them how to rewrite the future, and bring about significant change in performance levels.
