अँडॉप्शन' एक गुड न्यूज!' हे पुस्तक मराठी ग्रंथ संसारामध्ये अनेक अर्थानी फार महत्त्वाच ठरणार आहे असं मला वाटत. 'अँडॉप्शन'' या शब्दाच्या भोवती खूप साऱ्या भावना आहेत. एक भावना स्वीकाराची आहे, तर द्सरी भावना स्वत:ने आतापर्यत मानलेलं न्यूनत्व पूर्ण करण्याची. तिसरी भावना अनन्य अशा संगोपनाची आहे. याच्या पलीकडे जाऊन एक भावना निरपेक्ष वात्सल्याचीही आहे. म्हणजे इतक्या सान्या भावछटा 'अडॉप्शन' शब्दाभोवती आहेत. ज्यांच्यासाठी तो एक प्रवास आहे, ती प्रक्रिया आहे, अशा मनांना काय वाटत असेल? नेमकं हे शोधण्याचा आणि सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न या पुस्तकामध्ये आहे. आणि वाचताना प्रत्येक संवेदनाक्षम वाचकाला असं जाणवेल, की या निव्वळ कुणी व्यक्ती बोलत नसून त्यांच्याद्वारे माणूसकी बोलतेय. मला असं वाटतं, माणसामध्ये असलेल्या आस्था, संगोपन, वात्सल्य, स्वीकार या सारख्या उन्नत भावनांना खत पाणी देण्यासाठी म्हणून या 'अँडॉप्शन', प्रक्रियेचा जन्म झाला असावा. आणि म्हणूनच हे पुस्तक वाचतांना पदोपदी, शब्दोशब्दी आपल्याला जाणवेल की 'अॅडॉप्शन' ही 'गुड़ न्युज' का आहे कारण ती 'माणूसकीसाठीची गुड न्यूज' आहे ! डॉ आनंद नाडकर्णी ज्येष्ठ मनोविकासतज्ज्ञ

Composed in the early phase of Dr. S L Bhyrappa’s literary career, Dharmashree (1961) deals with the evils of religious conversion and the trauma it causes—at the levels of the individual, family, and society. The subtle and nefarious attempts of Christian missionaries and their relentless attempts at undermining Hinduism for the sake of proselytization are vividly brought out in this novel.
