The world's richest citizen is Thomas Richmond Tye III, president of the mighty Tye Corporation -- the biggest multi-interest conglomerate ever known. Consequently, his ever-youthful and public opinions are familiar to almost every inhabitant of Earth. But to some the Tye Corporation now seems dangerously out of control. Operating beyond the reach of any national government, even the most powerful nation states feel threatened by its colossal success. Jack Hendricksen, the tycoon's security chief, has himself become alarmed by some of his boss's over-reaching ambitions. And on meeting Haley Voss, who is reaching an unauthorized biography of Tye, he is presented with new insights stretch his corporate loyalties to the limit. That's when he decides to undertake some investigations of his own. Just as Tye is making final adjustments to the deep -- space installations through which he can manipulate Earth's climate, the stage seems set for worldwide economic collapse ... and global disaster on an unimaginable scale.
